Certification Description
The Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) credential certifies that an individual has the skills and knowledge to perform compliance tasks within a healthcare organization. Professionals with this certification are knowledgeable of relevant regulations in the healthcare industry and have expertise in the operation of effective compliance programs.
Healthcare professionals with this credential may have career advancement opportunities and higher pay that other professionals may not be eligible for.

- Knowledge of compliance policies and controls, including regulatory requirements
- Ability to maintain and enforce a compliance plan
- Knowledge of how to advocate for compliance resources within an organization

- Ability to protect anonymity and confidentiality within legal and practical limits

- Issuing Organization: Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA)
- Prerequisites: Applicant must have worked at least 1 year in a full-time compliance position or have 1,500 hours of direct compliance job duties earned in the 2 years preceding the application date; applicant must meet all other eligibility requirements as outlined in the exam handbook
- Questions: 120 (100 scored)
- Time: 120 minutes
- Cost: $275 for SCCE or HCCA members and $375 for non-members
- Re-certification and certification renewal: Every 2 years
