Certification Description
The Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) credential certifies that the healthcare professional has the knowledge, skills and expertise to diagnose and treat individuals with speech, communication and language difficulties and disorders. This certification shows that the professional can provide high quality clinical services to this patient population.
Obtaining this credential is a requirement in most states in order to obtain licensure to practice as a speech pathologist.

- Knowledge of factors that impact communication and swallowing disorders
- Ability to protect patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of how to develop case notes and case histories
- Comprehension of alternative forms of communication
- Ability to appraise factors that can impact treatments

- Understanding of resonance, motor speech, expressive language and pragmatics
