Certification Description
The Board Certification in Fluency (BCS-F) credential certifies that a professional has demonstrated a high level of knowledge and clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating patients with fluency (difficulty speaking in a fluid or flowing way) disorders.
The certification shows that the individual is highly experienced within the field of speech fluency. The credential is only obtained by those who can show documentation of lengthy, successful and relevant clinical work history.

There is no exam for this credential. However, applicants must show that they have the extensive clinical work experience and rigorous training requirements for obtaining the credential. An application and all necessary documentation must be completed and submitted to the American Board of Fluency and Fluency Disorders (ABFFD) for review.

- Issuing Organization: American Board of Fluency and Fluency Disorders (ABFFD)
- Prerequisites: Applicant must have current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and copy of current ASHA membership card; applicant must have 5+ years of full-time applicable clinical experience; applicant must have 450 hours of direct clinical activity; applicant must provide 3 letters of recommendation; applicant must have 100 hours or 10 CEUs; applicant must submit all necessary documentation with the application
